Portland Police have arrested 18 year old Christopher McMann of 111 Elizabeth Road. He is charged with Reckless Conduct with a Firearm in connection with a shooting on Friday, April 17th.
McMann is alleged to have fired multiple gunshots outside his residence during a confrontation with 20 year old Daniel Trimble-Smith of Standish. Trimble-Smith was shot and is being treated at Maine Medical Center. He is expected to make a full recovery.
One shot was found to have entered a nearby home while the resident was inside but in another part of the house. The bullet completely penetrated an exterior wall, damaging furniture and other personal belongings.
Detectives are continuing to investigate this incident. Physical evidence is being collected and examined. A car driven by Trimble-Smith has been impounded as part of the investigation.
Reckless Conduct with a firearm is a class C crime punishable by up to 5 years imprisonment and a fine of up to $5,000. Additional charges are possible.
