Portland City Council Unofficial Results
By Tony Zeli

The City of Portland has released the unofficial results for local races including who won a runoff for Portland City Council At-Large.
In the City of Portland, Susan Collins did not fare well. In fact, her 15% of the vote had her underperforming “Blank” in many of the State House and State Senate races. Meanwhile, Governor-elect Hannah Pingree took well over 80% of the vote in unofficial results. All Democrats running for State House and State Senate received somewhere between 73% and 91% of the vote.
The Democratic candidate Sean Mahoney in District 112, who did have an opponent, Lauren Jones received 73% of the vote. Michael Dixon in Parkside’s District 119 also had an opponent. He won 91% of the vote compared to opponent Jacob Wakem’s 6%.
City Council Results – At-Large
In the race for Portland’s open At-Large City Council seat, Kate Snyder had the highest vote count on election day. However, she only garnered 43% of the vote, so the race had to go through the rounds of ranked choices. Through three rounds of counting Snyder held on to win with 55% of the vote to Joey Brunelle’s 44.6%, after Atiim Boykin was eliminated as the lowest vote getter.
District 4
Anna Bullet won reelection in District 4 narrowly defeating challenger Jacob Viola by 12 votes. In unofficial results, Bullet received 3,421 votes to Viola’s 3,409. Viola is considering a recount.
District 5
District 5 City Council also required a runoff. In the first round, Ilma Lopez was on top with 44% of the vote, with Michael Todd Chretien trailing with 30%, then Jakobi Delgado and Kevin Gardella each with about 8%. By round 3 of instant runoff tabulation, Ilma Lopez held on with the help of Delgado’s second votes.
