On May 4th at about 3:40 p.m., the Portland Police responded to a single vehicle motorcycle accident on Congress near Bramhall Street.
The operator of the motorcycle, a 28 year old male, was transported to Maine Medical Center with serious injuries.The operator was the only person on the motorcycle, and he was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. The motorcycle sustained severe damage and was towed from the scene.
The section of Congress Street from Ellsworth Street to Bramhall Street was closed to traffic for approximately 90 minutes.
The Portland Police Traffic Unit continues to investigate the accident.
