Beginning Monday, November 1st, 2021, the West End Neighborhood Association (WENA) will start bringing back the neighborhood activities we were sponsoring before the pandemic. Plus, we’ll gradually introduce some new offerings. This will be a phased restart due to the on-going staffing difficulties faced by the recreation department. Portland Rec employees work in concert with WENA volunteers to put on these programs.
The following Covid-19 guidelines will be in place. These rules may change as CDC recommendations respond to pandemic conditions. We expect that participants in WENA neighborhood activities will be vaccinated in accordance with current CDC guidelines. Also, all participants must legibly sign in with their address and contact information for use in the event contact tracing becomes necessary. In addition, masks must be worn inside the building and a minimum of three feet distance maintained.
On Monday evenings we will be holding regular neighborhood activities in a rotation as follows:
1st Monday – Book Nook Book Club – for adults
2nd Monday – Afficionados’ Film Night – for older teens >17 +adults
3rd Monday – Memento Mori Death Series – for adults
4th Monday – Family Night – kids + adults (children must be accompanied by adult)
5th Monday – SpeeDebating – for adults
Start times vary, usually 6:30 p.m., but promptly at 7 p.m. for films.
