Introducing GPS Tracking and New Freeport – Yarmouth Route
This summer in Metro bus news, the Greater Portland Metro has launched the Southern Maine Transit Tracker.
The new GPS tool will allow riders with smart phones to track, in real time, buses along their routes. Riders can access real time bus arrival predictions and trip planning with mobile apps. Learn more at smttracker.com.
SMTT is the result of a partnership between METRO, South Portland Bus Service, Casco Bay Lines and Greater Portland Council of Governments.
The Metro has also begun a new Freeport and Yarmouth Express Service. METRO BREEZ features nine daily weekday roundtrips and five on Saturday between Portland, Falmouth, Yarmouth and Freeport. The express bus will feature limited stops in each community for convenient, express service between destinations.
