On Sunday, December 28th, at about 4:45 a.m., Portland police officers were dispatched to the area of Birchvale Drive after an area resident reported hearing gunshots. Patrol officers searched the area and did not locate anything suspicious.
At 9:30 a.m., a Birchvale Drive resident contacted the police department and reported their vehicle had been struck by bullets. The vehicle was located in the driveway of a home on Birchvale Drive. The vehicle was towed to the police station for further investigation. No individuals were injured as a result of this incident.
Portland Police are working jointly with the Westbrook Police Department to determine if an incident in Westbrook is related to the Portland incident. The case remains under investigation.
