by Holly Lord
Please join us for the next topic in our enrichment series as we have Allen Armstrong, a retired mechanical engineer talk about EV (electric vehicle) technology. What’s available in today’s market? What is it like to drive one? How to decide whether your next car could be electric.
Allen is a retired mechanical engineer who has followed the evolution of practical electric vehicles since 1972, when he did the mechanical design for an electric postal truck. Its 900 pound battery gave a range of 35 miles. Today, the 960 pound battery in his Chevy Bolt delivers a range of 240 miles. Progress in battery design has made electric cars more practical than ever for most everyday uses.
Please join us for the talk on Electric Engines on November 13th at 6 p.m. at the Reiche Community Room, 2nd floor, Clark St entrance.
