Jenn Thompson Says Farewell
Portland Buy Local begins its search for a new Executive Director to lead the buy local movement. Current Executive Director Jenn Thompson is relocating with her family to Indiana. She will remain on the board of the American Independent Business Alliance. Also, she will stay involved with Portland Buy Local remotely as an Advisory Board member.
“Jenn has been an invaluable player in our organization’s growth and success over the past few years, and while we are sad to see her go, we’re excited for her next adventure,” said PBL Board President Tony Cox.
“In searching for her replacement, our board is looking for someone who will be dedicated to the mission of Portland Buy Local and eager to dive into Portland’s ever-expanding independent community.”
Search for New Executive Director
Portland Buy Local was launched in 2006 by a small group of local business owners and citizens. Since, the organization has grown to 450 members. The active board works to build the organization and the buy local campaign.
The new Executive Director will play a critical role within this group. The Executive direct represents Portland Buy Local both nationally and globally, spearheads the growth of the organization, and works closely with PBL’s Board of Directors on day-to-day projects and larger annual events.
Portland Buy Local is the campaign of the Portland Independent Business and Community Alliance. Its mission is to support locally owned, independent businesses in Portland to maintain the community’s unique character. Portland Buy Local seeks to provide continuous opportunities for entrepreneurs, build community economic strength, and prevent the displacement of community-based businesses by national and global chains.
