Portland Buy Local will print 25,000 copies of their popular annual directory of local, independent businesses. It is scheduled to hit the streets of Portland before Memorial Day this year and to help us celebrate we’re throwing a Directory Release Party for our volunteers and anyone interested in supporting local, independent businesses.
Readers can help spread the word about Portland’s incredible local business community by volunteering to help distribute them!
The Directory Release Party and Volunteer Action Day will be held Wednesday, May 22nd from 2 to 5 p.m. (for volunteers), and there will be a party open to the public from 5 to 7 p.m.
Volunteers can drop by Coffee by Design on Diamond Street from 2 to 5 p.m. to pick up directories and a free PBL tshirt.
Then in the evening, from 5 to 7 p.m., everyone can join in the fun at Bayside Bowl for the Directory Release party! Chat with local business owners and Indie Biz enthusiasts, enjoy good food, a cash bar, and celebrate the release of this popular annual publication.
Sign up online to volunteer for an hour to help distribute the directory to over 400 member businesses. You’ll be helping to spread the word about the value of local businesses, as well as making it easier to find them. As thanks for your time, you’ll get a sweet treat, a coffee, and a Buy Local tshirt. For more information or to sign up: www.portlandbuylocal.org.
