The Overdose Prevention Project, comprised of law enforcement officials, medical and social service providers and recovery community members and the City’s Public Health Division, have joined together to host a community conversation the challenges of opiates and heroin in the community.
The event is scheduled for Tuesday June 16th, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., at the University of New England’s Ludcke Auditorium, 716 Stevens Avenue, Deering Center.
The conversation will be led by Christopher Corson, Program Coordinator, Substance Abuse Prevention, Public Health Division, City of Portland, US Drug Enforcement Agent Michael Wardrop, Sheriff Kevin Joyce, Dr. Mary Dowd from Catholic Charities, and several health specialists from the India Street Clinic.
