West End Neighborhood Association (WENA) and Portland Climate Action Team (PCAT) are sponsoring a workshop at Maine Irish Heritage Center to make 275 Window Dressers insulating window inserts.
Volunteers help their neighbors build the inserts.
These inserts save money, keep homes more comfortable in the winter, and reduce carbon emissions. Because they are made by customers and volunteers they are reasonably priced with a short pay-back period.

From October 24th to 30th customers and volunteers will work together from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Tasks are simple, easily learned, and working with neighbors is a pleasure. Stay for lunch from 12:30 to 1 p.m. or come early if you’re working the afternoon shift.
For more information or to sign up to get inserts, go to WindowDressers.org, or contact local coordinators Elissa Armstrong, 774-1682 or Kim Sutton, 329-9224.
