The Francis hotel, developers of the Bramhall Residences, and Greater Portland Landmarks are attempting to restore the 1925 Hay & Peabody’s Seth Thomas Clock.
The clock is in noticeable disrepair with rusting cast iron and a tilted base. In April, expert clock restorers examined the clock. Good news is that they believe it can be either fully or partially restored.
The Seth Thomas Clock Company created such famous clocks as seen in Grand Central Station and in the classic film, “High Noon.”
Further funding for the project will be sought. For more information visit http://www.portlandlandmarks.org/hay-peabody-clock.
