There will be no trash nor recycling collection on either Christmas or New Year’s Day. Residents that usually leave their trash out on Thursday will have collection day moved to Saturday, December 27th, and Saturday, January 3rd, 2015.
The standard collection schedule will resume the week of January 4th, 2015. Put trash and recycling curbside by 6:30 a.m. For the full holiday collection schedule, click here.
After the big Christmas Day unwrapping frenzy, please note that wrapping paper is, thankfully, recyclable. Styrofoam & bubble wrap, however, are not recyclable.
If it snows, place trash and recyclables at the end of your driveway or curbing. Do not place recycling bins or trash bags on or behind a snow bank. If city crews cannot see the bins, they miss pick-ups, increasing the chances of a lost or stolen bin and posing a possible safety threat if the garbage falls or spills into the street as the snow melts.
Christmas trees can be placed curbside for collection on your normal trash day between December 29th, 2014, and January 29th, 2015. Trees can also be dropped off at one of the following locations during the month of January:
• Cutter Street parking lot,
• Payson Park Little League Field
• The Nine-hole golf course lot on Riverside Street.
