OCTOBER FEATURED NONPROFIT
Portland Trails holds 19th annual Trail to Ale 10k
This month, Portland’s nonprofit land trust kicks off the 19th Annual Trail to Ale 10k Race and Walk on Sunday, September 16th. Over 1,500 runners and walkers are expected at the Eastern Promenade to support the trails many of them use every day.
In addition to the run or walk, there will be pizza, beer, yoga, massages, healthy snacks, and a dance party to meet participants at the finish line after the 6.2-mile course.
“As an organization we work to better serve the community every day. For the past 19 years, the Trail to Ale 10K Race (and) Walk has fostered collaborative community support of the trails from competitive runners, casual walkers, families, friends, and colleagues that help make Portland a unique and vibrant place to live, work, and play,” says Portland Trails Executive Director Kara Wooldrik.
6-Packs
Unique to Trail to Ale is the option for runners to compete as “6-Pack Teams.” Many local businesses send teams to participate, and many teams return every year as an annual tradition.
Awards are given to top three male and female finishers in each age category, the top three Portland Trails members, and to the three top teams.
Road Closures
Roads will be closed surrounding race course starting around 8:30 a.m., including: Eastern Promenade from Congress Street to Washington Avenue including side streets, as runners pass through until 9:15 a.m.

Entry to Trail to Ale and after-party is $35, with registration online at http://trails.org/events-2/races/trail-to-ale, or in person on September 14th and 15th at Fleet Feet (309 Marginal Way, Portland).
