City crews are busy finishing road construction projects before the first snow. One ongoing project is at Bramhall Square where traffic and pedestrian safety upgrades are getting done one step at a time.
At the busy intersection of Bramhall and Congress the brick sidewalks are slowly being redone, new traffic lights are installed, and there are new signs and road paint indicating a new traffic pattern.
The new traffic pattern has been causing some confusion as drivers get used to lane changes. Those traveling eastbound on Congress Street will notice the change. The far right lane heading up the hill used to be for right turning traffic only — turning right from Congress onto Bramhall. Now, the eastbound right lane is for vehicles turning right onto Bramhall and vehicles staying straight on Congress. The left lane is only for left-hand turns.
Be aware of this new traffic pattern and exercise caution while driving through the neighborhood.
