Downeast Magazine to Mark 60th Anniversary With Gala in Portland’s East End

Downeast Magazine plans to celebrate its 60th anniversary with a gala
party and fundraiser at the Portland Complex on Thursday, August 14th
at the Portland Company Complex at 58 Fore Street, on the East End
waterfront.
The gala will feature a raffle for artwork produced by six prominent
Maine artists, and will also have Maine-produced food and drink, and live
music from the Larry William’s Band followed by a special performance
by Gunther Brown.
Proceeds from the event will benefit six Maine organizations, including
The Locker Project/Good Shepherd Food Bank, Maine College of Art
Scholarship Fund, Colby College Museum of Art, Bowdoin College
Museum of Art, North Haven EMS, Maine Organic Farmers and
Gardeners Association, and the Penobscot Bay YMCA.
