UPDATE: One of the victims of the shooting in the Old Port on Tuesday night has died as a result of a gunshot wound. Nineteen year old Treyjohn Arsenault of Scarborough died at Maine Medical Center early this morning.
The second victim is a 20 year old Portland man who remains hospitalized. He is expected to make a full recovery.
The shooting occurred late Tuesday night, May 25th. Two people were shot at Da Block Studios located at 371 Fore Street. Initial investigation suggests there may have been more than one attacker. No motive for the shooting has been established and no one has been arrested at this time.
Police arrived on scene at 11:56 p.m. in response to a report of gun shots. Officers discovered two individuals that sustained gunshot wounds. Both victims were immediately transported to a local hospital. Nineteen year old Treyjohn Arsenault died at the hospital, and another 20 year old Portland man remains recovering in the hospital.
Detectives and officers are interviewing witnesses, and the investigation is ongoing.
Unknown suspects were last seen fleeing trough the Old Port, heading up Market Street towards Milk Street. There are no descriptions to release at this time.
